Rui Matos is Associate Professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (where he teaches since November 13, 1989 - 4 days after the fall of the Berlin Wall), of which he was dean between 2013 and 2017; PhD in Human Kinetics (2008) by the Faculty of Human Kinetics, Technical University of Lisbon; Master in Child Motor Development (1997), by the same Faculty; Degree in Physical Education (1989), by the Institute of Physical Education of Lisbon, current Faculty of Human Kinetics; Author of several books and technical-scientific articles in the area of Sports; Current sub-coordinator of the Quality of Life Research Centre (CIEQV); Reviewer and member of the editorial board in several international magazines; Award-winning writer in several literary contests, he is the author of more than a dozen books, most of them for children and teenagers; Creator of Tripela, in 2008; Former football and handball coach; His main object of study is motor behaviour, in the components of control, learning and, above all, development.
